Autumn in New York 🍂| NYC travel diaries 2025

I was in New York for three weeks. For the first week or so, I was off from work and spent my days like I was a trust fund baby (time wise, I wasn’t splurging or anything(i wish)). These were my days 💖

I did a lot of walking in New York (one of my favorite activities), starting day one when my sister got me from Penn Station and we walked to midtown, wheeling my very heavy luggage through the streets.

The very next day I walked from midtown to SoHo.

October 2nd

My first stop in New York was Sezane. It’s probably my favorite clothing store at the moment. I went with the intention of buying the bag pictured below but wasn’t as in love with it in person. Sezane is a French brand and this is the only store in the US. I loved being in here. For my Sezane shopping hall: check out this post (coming soon).

12:00 pm

Afterwards I found a cafe to get matcha and write in. This is Lyria.

This place was tres packed. I hovered over a girl when she was leaving (apologizing profusely) to get a seat and when I was leaving a guy bolted for my table and sat himself down as soon as I stood.

After leaving, I walked aimlessly in the direction of uptown and stumbled into a Whole Foods. I grabbed food from there and sat. I then wrote some more until I was ready to head back.

4:30:

I was almost home (my sister’s apt), when I walked past this cafe: mori. Almost immediately I knew it was the kind of place that would be seeing more of me.

I ordered hibiscus tea and journaled before heading home.

October 3rd

I spent the next day living like I was an author. I took my laptop to Mori and wrote. Later on I had dinner with my sister and brother. My sister took us to a restaurant I forget the name of, then we walked to Washington Square park (which wasn’t the scene for me) and had tea at Reggio. It was a lovely day.

October 4th

10:00am walked downtown. The restaurant I was heading to was opening at 11 and it was going to take me about an an hour to get there. Which for me was perfect!

11:00 am (or thereabouts): I arrived at Délice and Sarrasin. My sister loves this place so I wanted to check it out:

My verdict? Lovee! It’s so cute and French. Fully vegan and had gluten free options for me.

Video of a bird eating my crumbs:

I edited the manuscript for a little bit and then left for my next stop

1:00pm

As a long time reader of goop, I had to go to check out the store.

I’ve been to NY so many times (and lived there for a hot minute) that my sight seeing was whatever I saw on my walks. Of course, NY does not disappoint

644pm

Later on that evening, my sister took me to the Harry Potter store. We love the books so this was a great experience.

October 5th

My duo lingo streak continues!

October 6th

We were supposed to go hiking this day but my period came and my Ayurvedic doctor advised against strenuous activities during these days (my sibling found this statement wild for some reason haha) so I stayed home Cozy in bed

October 7th

I spent the day in Brooklyn which you can see here: an afternoon in Brooklyn

I was in New York for 3 weeks so stay tuned for part two featuring shopping, ballet, galleries, museums, Central Park :)
