Spend a Sunday with me editing my fantasy novel

This was September 10th. A lovely later summer day. I promised a “Summer in Review” post in this blog post, if anyone is curious I am working on it, most likely the review will just be added to the bottom of the current one.
But for now here is a typical day I had this past summer.

6:30: Woke up and read

I was reading The Last Sun by K. D. Edwards and on this particular morning, I opened the book back up first thing in the morning. I’m realizing I didn’t actually finish this book when I returned it to the library.

I love this little red light reading light :)

8:00 packed some soup and made some ccf tea to go

Sunday Morning, I love going to group meditation. I am trying to prioritize eating. To treat it like the most important thing, because it trully is. So even though it meant running late (read *not being 30 minutes early*) I took the time to pack some premade soup.

My ayurvedic doctor wants me taking ccf tea erryday so I made some of that to take with me as well knowing I would be away from home all morning.

9:00 Sunday sit meditation class

This has become a routine I love dearly. The studio is beautiful and I love the woman who leads the class.

10:17 coffee shop

I spent a lot of time in coffee shops this summer. It is now one of my favorite hobbies. I think it is a symptom of spending so much time writing, cooped up in my apartment most of last year (2024) and up until spring 2025.

Now that I have been querying this book, I spend a lot of time doing it anywhere but inside.

I reedited the book because I got rejection emails from agents I realllllyyy wanted representing me. I know the story is good and I know I want people i trust helping me with this next part the process, wanting to give this story the best chance of finding agents, editors that will help make it the best it can be, I spent time revamping it. Now I am back to querying again.

12:00 went to the market

Only went for a few things but the line was supperrr long to check out.

14:00 quick lunch

I wanted to be back out of the house and editing ASAP, so I ate some of the left soup and warmed up these falafels from Trader Joes. Has this with some some rice to complete the meal.

15:00 drove to the library

I was at the library until they closed at 5:30, got some good editing in.

All in all, I remember really enjoying this day. I am in New York City visiting my sister and i will some “spent the day/afternoon with me in NY” posts coming up.

See you then :)
